What is Flip1?
Flip1 is a payment method that allows customers to use their old devices—such as a phone or tablet—as a trade-in value directly at checkout.
Implementation is simple: Flip1 integrates directly with Shopify and can be enabled in under a minute. For customers, the experience is as easy as using any other payment method:
- Estimate your old device’s value
- Use it for payment at checkout
- Send the device by mail using a return code
With Flip1, customers get an easy way to utilize old phones and electronics left in drawers, while merchants benefit from better conversion and higher average order value—without cutting margins.
The results have been encouraging:
“The results have exceeded our expectations. Orders paid with Flip1 on Finlayson’s online store are on average over +36% higher than those made with other payment methods. Over 60% of that value came directly from device trade-ins, effectively increasing customer purchasing power,” says Ossi Hurttila, summarizing the collaboration results so far.
